Supporting 2,500 family enterprise initiatives in the framework of small workshops is on the agenda for this year, which will directly create employment for 12,250 people, the Managing Director of Barakat Foundation said.

Mohammad Torkamaneh went on to say that the move aims to transform small and family plans into workshops and develop their businesses.

Family enterprises are plans where 40 percent of the constituents are members of the same family or have a kinship relationship, he added.

This year we will support 2,500 family businesses, of which 1,750 will be in the form of micro enterprise and 750 projects will be small enterprise, he stated.

Each micro enterprise creates jobs directly for an average of 3 to 5 people and each small enterprise for 6 to 10 people, he underscored.

Last year, the Barkat Foundation supported 1,000 family enterprises, in addition to helping them expand their businesses, and provided employment opportunities for 4,900 individuals, he noted.

Commenting on family enterprises, he said that the budget allocated to each project by the Barakat Foundation is 3 billion and 750 million rials, with the total investment brought by the applicant to 7 billion and 300 million rials.

With launching Barakat Business Clinic in the near future, transforming family business plans into a workshop will be systematically carried out, he pointed out.

Supporting family businesses kicked off across the country last year and will continue this year, he noted.

Family businesses are operating in processing agricultural products and craft-related areas, he added.

Applicants can register their plan in the workshop and family businesses by visiting the Barakat Foundation app at app.barkat.ir, he said.

The facilitators of the Foundation will refer to the applicants after the initial review and capacity competency of the projects, he further noted.
