EIKO Sends 100 Tons of Relief Aids to Flood-Affected Areas in Khuzestan Province
The largest and heaviest air consignment of the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order was sent to flood-affected areas in Ahvaz, Khuzestan province.

EIKO sent its largest and heaviest contributions, as weigh as 100 tons, to the flood-affected people in Khuzestan province.

This heavy consignment, as weigh as 100 tons, included essential items of life such as 1,000 blankets, tens for accommodation of nine persons, 15,000 blankets, 12,000 square meter moquette, 50,000 canned foods, two tons of drugs and medicines, three tons of sanitary and hygienic products and also 100,000 1.5-lit mineral waters (PET bottles), total of which were sent to the flood-affected areas of Khuzestan province.

In addition, Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO) has sent 1,000 temporary tents, each accommodating nine persons, 25,000 blankets, 38,000 square meters of moquette (wall-to-wall carpet), 50,000 canned foods to the flood-affected people in Khuzestan province.

Concurrent with sending relief consignment to the flood-hit areas, Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO) had already conducted predictions for this unexpected event, Dr. Mokhber said, adding, “for this purpose, Jihadi Headquarter of EIKO sent more than 120 Jihadi groups and also 2,500 Jihadists to the flood-hit areas of this province to offer quality relief packages.”

“We had already prepared the essential items,” he added.

From the beginning hours of the flood, relief manpower of the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order were present in various provinces of the country, he said, adding, “in this regard, all rural houses were insured by the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order previously.”

He put the number of rural houses insured by Barakat Foundation, a subsidiary of the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order, at 350,000.

Of total 350,000 rural houses insured, 140,000 and 90,000 rural houses are located in the provinces of Khuzestan and Lorestan respectively, Dr. Mokhber stated.

The individuals insured in the aforementioned provinces can receive compensation for the damages incurred to their houses according to the evaluation of insurance experts, he said, adding, “we are seeking documentation and payment of these compensations in Lorestan Province as well.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, head of the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order added, “after the flood occurred in the early hours of the current year, we have set up eight relief bases in eight flood-affected provinces which are offering quality relief services in cooperation with Jihadi forces as of Esfand 28, 1397 (March 19, 2019).”

He went on to say that the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order has sent various types of relief packages including special plastic mat for more than 5,500 families, 3,000 shovels (spades), 4,000 pairs of boots, five oxygen maker devices (oxygenators) for medical usages, 130,000 gunnysacks, 400,000 different types of canned foods, 37 tons of rice, six tons of vegetable oil, significant amounts of tea and sugar, 6,000 packs of baby diapers, 7,300 packs of  sanitary items, 1,600 sets of tent for temporary settlement, 160 light- and heavy vehicles daily, etc. 

After the flood occurred, the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order provided 20,000 packs of home appliances including refrigerators, gas cookers, carpets, rugs, containers, etc., he said, adding, “the first consignment of relief services will be sent by the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order to the flood-hit province of Golestan next Saturday.”

“We provide 8,000 herds of light- and heavy livestock in order to compensate a part of the damages incurred by the flood to the stockbreeders of this province,” he added.

In the same direction, 25,000 to 30,000 packages of stationery have been prepared that will be donated by the EIKO among students affected by flood after the crisis.

He pointed to the employment as the main issue that should be taken into consideration in flood-affected areas and said, “with the coordination made in this regard, Barakat Foundation agreed to generate more employment opportunities in the flood-stricken areas.”

Iran’s National Flag Carrier (HOMA) also allocated an aircraft, model 747, to the EIKO for forwarding and transporting heavy consignments to Ahvaz, Khuzestan province without any cost.

Today, three tons of sanitary appliances and also two tons of medicines are forwarded to flood-hit Khuzestan province, he said, adding, “local officials and provincial governor-generalship are responsible for distributing these items among flood-hit people.”

In the end, Dr. Mohammad Mokhber Head of the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO) once again reiterated that EIKO will stand by the flood-affected people across the country with full power and strength in line with offering quality relief services to them all.
