
The Strategic Taskforce of Comprehensive and Sustainable Development Outlook Plan of Hormoz Island’s meeting was held which it was attended by the Dr. Askari Azad, Head of Barakat Foundation’s Board of Directors and Dr. Hemmati, Governor General of Hormozgan Province. In this meeting, it was determined that 30 precursor and stimulant projects for development of Hormoz Province will be implemented in the first phase of this plan with a credit more than 32 billion tomans.
Hormozgan Governor General referred to the visit made by the Interior Minister and order of the President on development of Hormozgan islands and said, “Based on a MOU which was concluded between Hormozgan Provincial Government and EIKO on February 2018, Barakat Foundation, as the representative of EIKO will be active in eradication of deprivation and development of Hormoz Island.”
“A half of these 30 precursor projects will be financed by Hormozgan Provincial Government, while another half must be financed by Barakat Foundation. Their implementation will be started in this month and they must be finished by the end of next February,” he added.
Hormozgan Governor General made it clear the main purpose of such projects is development and promotion of tourism in the Hormoz Island and creation of new jobs for local people of this island and added that all of such projects will be completed through employing the local people of the Hormoz Island and its people will be provided with the necessary training in this regard in order to guarantee their sustainable employment in this region.
It is necessary to explain that the comprehensive and sustainable development MOU of Hormoz Island was concluded in the last February between Dr. Muhammad Mokhber, Head of EIKO and Dr. Fereydon Hemmati, Hormozgan Governor General, in order to realize considerations and thoughts of Imam Khamenei on eradication of deprivation and resistive economy with a credit of 3776 billion rials.
Comprehensive and sustainable development and growth of Hormoz Island, eradication of deprivation and poverty, economic, social and cultural empowerment of people, increasing people, government and non-governmental sectors participation, declining social harms, increasing level of satisfaction and life expectancy in people, increasing the population and reverse immigration into the island and helping to development of necessary infrastructures of the Island are among the objectives of the MOU.
According to this MOU, EIKO and its representative, Barakat Foundation, will be responsible for planning, preparing and execution of the comprehensive Iranian-Islamic development model in the Hormoz Island.
Attracting participations, domestic and foreign investments, designing management structure and strategy of the plan, choosing proper consultants for the plan, providing consultation services and empowerment of the local society and financing the financial resources are other commitments which have been made by the EIKO in this MOU.
Facilitating the affairs and helping to removing the obstacles, paving the way for better condition and facilities, helping to attract inexpensive loans and financing, helping to provide manpower, working on issuing necessary permits for construction, execution and exploitation, implementation of a uniform management in all phases of the projects and development and launching he the executive structure of the project are among the commitments of the Hormozgan provincial government.
Strategic Taskforce of Comprehensive and Sustainable Development Outlook Plan of Hormoz Island’s will hold its meetings which will be attended by the governor general (president of the taskforce), Managing director of Barakat Foundation (as the executive of the project), head of Plan and Budget Organization (as the secretary), general director of EIKO in the Hormozgan Province, the project’s executive manager, meads of all organizations of the province, Friday prayer leader, perfect, head of city council, mayor, and representatives of NGOs working in the Hormoz Island. The meetings will be held at least every two months. This MOU will be valid for five years and it will be supervised by a committee consisted of representatives of both parties.
